Trump
Let’s take a look at what Donald Trump said about the illegal alien problem when he announced his presidential candidacy and analyze it. Donald Trump’s words are in bold italic and the barking dog’s analysis is shown in parenthesis.
The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else's problems. (Agree - With an open border between the USA and Mexico, we have no control over who comes into our country. Mexico does not screen the people who cross the US border.)
Thank you. It's true, and these are the best and the finest. (Not sure what he is saying here. It may be that he is referring to the border guards that he mentions later in the speech.)
When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. (All of them are crossing the border illegally. So even the best of them were willing to break the law to get into the USA. Many who crossed the border were criminals before the illegal act of crossing. The illegal border crossers were unemployed, except the ones working for the drug lords and the ones who were being paid to lead those illegally crossing.)
They're not sending you. They're not sending you. (I assume that he was saying that the illegal aliens coming across the border are not law abiding citizens like the audience he was addressing.)
They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. (I think he meant “them” and not “us”. And yes, they are bringing their problems with them even if they are looking for a fresh start. They arrive poor and unemployed. They have no valid US identification and cannot legally find work in the USA. Indeed, they are bringing a bunch of problems with them.)
They're bringing drugs. (Watch the show Border Patrol and you will indeed see that some of them are bringing drugs across the border.)
They're bringing crime. (Crossing the border illegally is a crime. Check out the GAO report at this link: http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d05646r.pdf According to this report, illegal aliens commit a significant amount of crime after they illegally cross the border.)
They're rapists. (While many who cross the border illegally are not criminals in their own country, the report states that "About 12 percent were [arrested in the USA]* for violent offenses such as murder, robbery, assault, and sex-related crimes.” Some obviously are rapists, but certainly not all. Not all are murderers either. But the USA does not need rapists and murderers, even a small number, to illegally cross the border.)
And some, I assume, are good people. (Some obviously are looking to work hard and achieve the American dream. Some may already have family in the USA.)
But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we're getting. And it only makes common sense. It only makes common sense. They're sending us not the right people. (Our government officials know what is going on. But they do nothing to stop it. Why?)
It's coming from more than Mexico. It's coming from all over South and Latin America, and it's coming probably -- probably -- from the Middle East. But we don't know. Because we have no protection and we have no competence, we don't know what's happening. And it's got to stop and it's got to stop fast.
